ICT System Manager

The ICT System manager supports the acquisition, installation, maintenance,
and administration of the company core computing environment (servers, storage,
operating systems, and infrastructure). He/she will regularly work with
Business Units to ensure solutions meet or exceed business requirements. He/she
has to suggest, promote, and leverage published standards to minimize
environment complexity and ensure regulatory as well as license compliance.
ACTIVITIES
IT infrastructure
Define, design, and implement core system
hardware and operating system solutions
Ensure the operational health (Security,
Availability, Performance, Interoperability and Reliability) of MIT’s core
computing resources
Propose and implement system enhancements
(software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability
of the system
Research new equipment based on needs and end of
life for the equipment based on the IS Roadmap
Minimize the cost of new equipment within budget
constraints
Analyze, compare, and determine the cost of
implementing new technology or services
Participate in the project planning process to determine
and recommend hardware needs
Interact with vendors, service providers, and
business units for the integration of services and systems
Optimize servers’ performance
Collaborate with the ICT security team
Maintenance of IT hardware and software
Continually work to improve operations through
routine exercising of metrics review, trend analysis, configuration, incident,
and problem management processes
Manage and maintain the existing environment
Respond appropriately to alarms, alerts, and
notifications for the environment from the management system
Maintain the information in the management
system
Manage contractor support personnel in the
operational tasks
Coordinate with vendors regarding updates to
equipment and the equipment lifecycle.
Monitor the needs of the site (bandwidth,
network, etc.)
Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and
business units for upgrades of services and systems
Optimize performance of existing and new servers
Configure servers
Document processes and procedures
Work with project teams and stakeholders to
ensure a successful implementation that meets customer expectations
Technical Support
Act as the subject matter expert (SME) and final point of
contact
Respond to customer or developer requests for assistance
Troubleshoot issues independently and with other teams
Identify and document defects and enhancements
Assist with the onboarding of support team members
through training and mentoring
Attend training and implement the information
learned
Research best practices, current trends, and
techniques
Make recommendations to the enterprise architect
for changes to the IS roadmap
Technical Communication
Provide formal communications on directional changes or changes
that will impact existing services
Keep business units informed on the status of the unified
network (wired and wireless), voice, data, and video infrastructure
Educate business units on the feasibility and limitations of the
technologies in the environment
Respond to customer inquiries regarding network performance
Communicate and collaborate with peer groups (enterprise
architects, security team, network team, etc.)
Data Security Management
Work observing and respecting the Company’s
Security Policy by ensuring the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of
the tangible and intangible assets
Design, configure and maintain systems providing
to the managed information the appropriate level of availability, integrity,
and confidentiality
Install, administer, and monitor information
security solutions (SIEM, IAG, IAM, etc.)
Manage
security events
Analyze
information security risks then propose and implement solutions to address them
QUALIFICATION
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
5 years as professional experience required
Good English
Problem solving techniques and tools
Operating Systems and platforms used at the site
such as Windows, Unix, Linux and VMWare, and related management tools
Monitoring tools
Storage and backup systems and architectures,
such as NAS, SAN, VTL
Software distribution tools such as SCCM
Project management
